When I tried to upgrade automatically to 3.1.1 I got this message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3096504 bytes) in /home/cracking/public_html/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 1426

Have I run out of room on the server?

I have fixed this. I needed to get my host to increase the memory allocation. Thanks.

I had the same error. Fixed mine by deactivating a couple of plugins.

My memory allocation shows 250MB when I check it, but it’s getting the memory error at around 30MB. Could there be something in the upgrade that is resetting the memory allocation to a lower number?

It doesn’t make any sense to me.

I have this issue too. Were you able to activate your plugins after the upgrade?

@itsdaniel0, yes. I was able to reactivate plugins after upgrade.

Just to re-enforce the fix of de-activating plugins.
Prior error was as follows, even after my ISP had increased memory for me, it would still fail:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3096504 bytes) in /home/djg4frie/public_html/wp/wp-includes/class-http.php on line 1408

De-activating plugins made the “autoupdate” work perfectly.

    Awesome its work for me
JUST deactivate all plugins and then update…
After that you can reactivate your plugin….
After a long googling i find it here thanks Byron.
