    Hi,
I recently set up a wordpress for an html class, so it's nothing REALLY serious, but i think some things are funky although maybe it's just supposed to be like this.
I set up my wordpress on 000webhost.com by extracting the 2.8.4 zip to the root directory of the site. The blog on 000webhost and on Wordpress itself are completely separate. I can't log in on my 000webhost one with the account i have set up here on wordpress.com or viceversa, but i'm guessing it's just supposed to be this way; i just want to make sure.

And one more thing, on my dashboard on 000webhost, i dont have a drop down menu for the dashboard button, but i do here on wordpress.com. Why is that, or is it also supposed to be this way?

Thanks, and excuse my silly questions.

Yes - it's supposed to be this way by default. They are 2 completely different sites requiring different logins.

However, I seem to recall that you can "associate" your self-hosted blog with your wordpress.com blog/account. Can't recall if that removes the second login at all but it might ease things for you by providing a single access point at wordpress.com.

WP on wordpress.com has been modified to suit that particular environment. So you will find small differences between the two.
