I own a blog with blogsome. The comments don’t work for visitors. I have tried to leave a comment myself and it was possible for me, but they have reported errors such as “the comment is too long” or “you have to be registered to post”. When they try to register an error saying “this function is not enabled” shows up.
At first I thought nobody visited my site, but I have received some mails lately complaining about this.
    What can I do?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

If you give us the URL of your blog, there might be a kind soul here who could help you.

Make sure in your admin panel -> options -> discussion that you don’t have

An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below) and
Comment author must have a previously approved comment

checked under the “Before a comment appears” section.

also, make sure that in the options -> general that you have

Users must be registered and logged in to comment

    unchecked.

I just tried commenting, and “you have to be logged in…” came up.
What kind of settings do you have at options -> general.
Do you have the option “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” deactivated?

    Oops, that was it. Options-General…
    Thanks a lot.

I was having simular problems and checked and unchecked as advised above and when I get to the page: http://prebleny.com/wp-comments-post.php it just hangs and no comment appears to be posted. Web site is:

    http://prebleny.com/

BTW Some time ago I was getting comment spammed and did some things to stop it. (I know it would be real nice if I could remember what they were but I don’t, sorry, I’m old, mind gone.) I just upgraded t0 1.5.1 and I assumed that by doing that I canceled whatever I did. I remember changing some files in 1.5 that I assumed were replaced with the upgrade to 1.5.1. And I followed the delete old files first instructions. Boy doesn’t this just p you off. Anyway, if there is somewhere where it is written how to set up WP to allow comments and prevent spam I would sure like to read it. Thanks in advance for any help you can supply.
