• I recently wrote an article here on basic WordPress blog setup. Since I’ve written it, I noticed that a few people linked back to my website’s article here:
    Setting up a WordPress Blog

I’ve noticed these other site because when I look at ‘comments’ in my admin panel, they are getting flagged as ‘spam.’ But they are not writing anything – simply linking back to my website.

So what is it exactly that I’m doing when I ‘approve’ them linking back to my website???

Sorry to ask, but it’s not obvious. I’m a bit confused on what is going on here…

Is it simply that I’m allowing a pingback to appear below the comments?

Hmm. Was a little bit confusing at first glance.

Maybe a future suggestion to the WP dev team is to separate pingbacks/trackbacks from the comment section – or at least the spam section. But it’s not a big deal.

    Thanks for the response Sam.

that has been suggested before,,,we’ll see
