I've been reading about how great Wordpress is for creating static CMS pages, so I got all excited about making one, but when I try to follow advice to set the opening page to static under Admin--->Reading, I don't have that option; it just starts with "Blog pages to show at most" while the screenshots I've seen show the part about the opening page at top. Was this moved? I'm really really new to Wordpress, so if it's an obvious answer, please let me know, this is driving me nuts. Thanks!

What version of WordPress are you using? Hint: look at the bottom right of the footer in the Admin area.
