I am using this template code to show my lastest 3 tweets on my wordpress template.
<?php aktt_sidebar_tweets(); ?>. It is able to pull my tweets, however they are a week old. In reading the readme, it says that twitter tools updates every ten minutes.
what could be the reason that it is not updating with my latest tweets?
i have supercache installed, however it is not activated, nor has it ever been activated.

I'm having the same problem on my wife's new blog. Here's her twitter feed.
Screenshots for posterity: widget vs twitter
You can see that the latest tweet is 13 hours old, but the widget is not updating.
I also tried clicking the "Update Tweets," "Reset Tweet Checking", and "Reset Digests" buttons in the Twitter Tools Options. No luck.
Ideas?

Oh! I see. Just dove into the code. The sidebar widget does not display tweets that originated from Twitter Tools as a result of a new blog post. It ignores all tweets that start with the "Tweet prefix" setting. If that was documented anywhere, I missed it.
It might make sense to explain this directly in the Twitter Tools settings page. E.g. "Tweets that start with your tweet prefix will not be shown in the sidebar."

I'm having this issue too. I also later noticed that it ignores posts created by Twitter Tools but I've made other posts since then and it hasn't updated, even after hitting the Update Tweets etc buttons.
I also _had_ supercache but I've completely uninstalled it... but it sounds to me like it's still interfering in the database somehow. I don't know. Halp?
EDIT: It works! The buttons don't work apparently, but after 10 minutes the latest non-blog tweet eventually appeared. Whew.
