Hello.
I have a wordpress.com blog, and recently I wanted to change it to wordpress.org. So I do all untill I had 2 blogs.
The problem is that today I tryed to link the two domains, but my wordpress.org was a myblog.com/blog , so the I had a /.
And that give me a problem that I can't solve on wordpress.com.
I decided to change the directory of my wordpress.org to myblog.com.
Changing mysql too and doing again the wordpress installation. But I got an error message about the "wp-config.php"
Why is this problem?
thank you for read, and sorry for my english, I hope you can understand me.
Regards.
First of all lets clarify things. You are installing wordpress at yourdomain.com and want to transfer your wordpress.com blog to it? If yes then you are in the right place.
But if you just want to have yourdomain.com point to your wordpress.com blog then you need to be at wordpress.com forum for that.
Back to the first point, in order to install wordpress on yourdomain.com then you need to have a wp-config.php file within the installation. You can rename the provided wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php - remember to add the database name, databse username and password to it.

Hello
Yes I'm installing wordpress at my domain, and I did it before, but at the moment to redirec my wordpress.com to my wordpress.org (in my domain) I got the problem that my blog adress has an /. So wordpress.com doesn't let me do the redirection. And I tried to change my wordpress.org addres to (expample) miblog.com without /.
When I re install wordpress.org, in a new MySQL I get the error message, (I already changed the wp-config file to macht with my new MySql).
I hope you'll understand me.
Thank you.
OK am getting the picture now.
What is the error message that you are getting? and also can you give your URL please.
The trailing / seems to have been left in the database wp-options site/home url section. Did you make any changes there or just in your blogs settings section?

Hello
my URL is http://www.justvegetal.com (for wordpress.org)
and my old blog is:
http://www.justvegetal.wordpress.com
When I upload the wordpress software, with the changes on the config archive , and the MySQL right I put the address
http://www.justvegetal.com/wp-admin/install.php
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at mysql.webcindario.com.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
I tryed 3 time to from the 0 point, but still get this problem.
Thank you
And is the database, username, password all set up with all privileges?
You might want to check with your host on the MySQl server status of all the info in the wp-config.php is correct.

Hi
Yes the wp-config.php is correct.
I called my host (1and1) to confirm that.
I think that maybe is a problem with the user and password of wordpress.org maybe that is vinculated with my first MySQL?
thank you
