How To Change Directory

    Having a custom CMS already in operation, I’ve setup my wordpress system (blog and separate pages) in a new directory, /wordpress.

    The WordPress address and Blog address both point to this address. Now that i’m ready to switch over from old system to wordpress, can I just change these uri’s to the root directory, / ?

    [I’m asking this as I tried it once on an older version of WP and it caused all manner of 404’s etc.]

    Options > See the two urls ? Change them to the new location.
    THEN
    Move the files/folders
    then login and all should be well.

    (Do not do it the other way round !)
