   I am currently using Yashfa 1.2 and would like to update it to the current version 1.7. However I am not that familiar with the coding and how updating the theme manually works. I have customized the theme slightly as well as added advertisements. My question is if I manually update the entire theme, are their certain files that I should not overwrite so my customization would not change? Or does not this not matter?

   That really is going to depend upon what files you changed. Ideally, you'd need to do a side-by-side comparison of your customised version with the new theme to determine what has changed and how it might impact on your site.
