Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
I just started using the bleeding edge 2.3 version of Subscribe To Comments a few days ago, and that was causing the problem.
Thank you esmi for refocusing me. I overlooked the obvious.
No problem. Sometimes all it needs is a fresh pair of eyes. 🙂

I am using WordPress 2.8.4.
When in the admin control panel under edit-comments.php, I try to use the Delete link, the message then disappears, but reappears when the page is refreshed. I also tried to use the Bulk Actions delete, and the message could not be deleted that way either.
The one only way for me to delete a message is to mark it as spam, and then Delete All Spam.
Is this a bug that is currently being fixed, or is there something else I can do now?
