Moving blog to a new host issues (2 posts)

I had issues with my last host and decided to packup my domain and go elsewhere so I backed up my files to my harddrive and went to GoDaddy (which I already had an account with). So just assuming that I download my blog files on to my GoDaddy server things would be sweet.
First issue was that the page could not be found - GoDaddy support fixed this by instructing me to install WordPress onto my account which is where I'm now stuck.
I have all my blog files in the file manager & a NEW WordPress blog with nothing in it. Can somebody please point me in the right direction to get my original blog back up and running.
PS: My original blog is version 2.8.3 and I would have downloaded onto GoDaddy the latest version 2.8.4, i don't know if this matters?

well the problem is you can get the files any time - the info for your blog is not stored in any files - all info is stored in the mysql database you had with your previous host
you will need a database backup to import or an .xml file that you exported from your old blog

here is what you should have done
