Can someone let me know where the font. specifically the color, settings are for the visual editor? In my install they seem to be white because I can type all day in there and see nothing, but when i use the mouse to highlight it, its all there. I need to change the color to black, and I need to know what that code would be to make it black, please. :-)

Have you clicked your "kitchen sink"? The icons in the editor, at the end there's one with a bunch of dots - hover over it and it says "Show/Hide Kitchen Sink". Click it. it'll show a submenu. Font color is there.

Doodlebee...when you say its at the end and there is one wich a bunch of dots.
Im not seeing it, or im not looking in the right place. I am in the editor, and all I see are the typical template and style files over on the right, and the code window in the middle.

No, it's doesn't *say* "show.hide" - you HOVER over the button and the alt text says it. You don't move/click anything *on* that button, you just click the button. Clicking it will cause the "kitchen sink" to show, and you'll get your settings.
