Moving over to WordPress from Pivot (importing XML)

Alrighty. I’m fed up with Pivot. I’m moving my whole site over to WordPress.

With that said…I have an atom.xml feed file in which I have output all 259 of my posts from my old Pivot install. I’ve read that WP will import XML files as posts. Will it only do this with an RSS file or will it also read an Atom file?

I’d rather use the Atom file because it has all of the text links and IMG tags in place and having to reformat almost 300 posts would make me slit my wrists.

Help?
