   Hi, I click on the link to autoupgrade from 2.7 to 2.84. I receive the message, "Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.4.zip"
   but nothing ever happens. It hangs there and the browser displays no activity. Any ideas? Thanks.

   Auto-upgrade doesn't always work, unfortunately, as all hosts have slight differences. Best thing to do in this case is a manual upgrade.

   You backed up and deactivated all of the plugins?
   Is memory allowance sufficient? - add this

   define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

   line to your wp-config.php and try again
