301 redirect old archives to a new domain name

I had to move my existing site to a new domain name, including all my archives. These archives have existing links in the blogosphere and i need people who are following to re-direct to the new site.
So when someone follows a link to:
http://www.site1.com/07/08/23/post-titleit needs to re-direct to:
http://www.site2.com/07/08/23/post-titleI’m currently doing my google research, but am not very familiar with this stuff. can anybody help?
