The first question is what browser did u use? if u use firefox, that’s no doubt. I’ve tried to use firefox to load the localhost but, it took a long time. especially on slow PC. But, if u want to be faster, you should try opera. lukaswrites.com

I have never noticed a problem accessing a localhost WP install with Firefox, so I respectfully suggest that Firefox isn’t the problem. My guess is that this is an XAMPP configuration problem. That is probably the most help I can offer concerning XAMPP, since I’ve never installed that package, but I wouldn’t waste my time trying to pin the problem on Firefox.
Solved!
It was (a bug in) Outpost firewall!
I am using Windows7 64bit, and after upgrading to a newer version of Outpost the problem is solved.
Not the pages load with in 1-2 seconds and not 1-2 minutes!
