[Plugin: Acronyms] New acronyms to add to the official list

    Some time has passed since an official update has been made to the acronyms list in this plugin. As things go, things are forgotten and as time passes, new acronyms emerge, so I’ve got some additions.

    The most important ones:

    • CPU – Central Processing Unit
    • FF – FireFox
    • FF2 – FireFox 2
    • FF3 – FireFox 3
    • FLV – Flash Video
    • GPS – Global Positioning System
    • HD – High-Definition
    • HTTPS – HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure
    • IE7 – Internet Explorer 7
    • IE8 – Internet Explorer 8
    • PC – Personal Computer
    • SEO – Search Engine Optimization
    • SWF – Small Web Format
    • TB – Terabyte

    The lesser important ones:

    • AAC – Advanced Audio Coding
    • AIFF – Audio Interchange File Format
    • ATX – Advanced Technology Extended
    • FLAC – Free Lossless Audio Codec
    • HDMI – High-Definition Multimedia Interface
    • LCD – Liquid Crystal Display
    • LED – Light Emitting Diode
    • PATA – Parallel ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment)
    • RIA – Rich Internet Application
    • SATA – Serial ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment)
    • WAV – Waveform audio format

    And some that I left out since they may only add more confusion to readers or may be too close to real words:

    • MP3 – MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3
    • MP4 – MPEG-4 Part 14
    • RAM – Random Access Memory
