I am using the restaurante theme, which is awesome! However, I just ran into an issue with the menu system. When I added a second level to the menus, they no longer show properly.

    For example:

My Stuff (1st level) -> My Books (2nd level) -> a book about something (3rd level).

It will only show the My stuff menu and then the my books under it. But my books won’t have a slide out menu or anything with the “a book about something” link. This works when I use the default theme with WordPress. So it seems to be an issue with the restaurante theme. Can someone help me?

Looks like i was able to find out the creators website that this theme doesn’t support more than 2 levels deep. So I guess my 3rd level won’t work.

Is there any way to hack the theme to allow this? Anyone know? Sorry, I’m brand new to WordPress, literally 24 hours into it. I have come over from many years on the Drupal CMS.

There an upgrade for the theme. It a premium theme. You can purchase a license for $27.

    hi,

as the theme is responsive and based on the twitter bootstrap, we don’t have a 3rd level menu. It’s something that we also mention in readme.txt (limitations). By default, twitter bootstrap allows only a second level menu hierarchy, and we’ve included the default bootstrap menu.

Do you think that it’s something that we should include in our future updates? If so, let me know and we might be able to do it in the near future.

Thanks Alex! Sorry, been super busy and unable to get back to this. Thanks for the explanation.

To answer your question, yes, I think it would be wonderful if you guys had support for 3 levels by default. I manage a few websites and all of them have at least one or two menu items that go into 3 levels of menus. I think it’s quite common for sites that use wordpress for more than a basic blog. Just helps to keep the layout of the site clean and easy to navigate. For the time being, I just had to restructure my menu items and now I have them go to a page to reference the 3rd level of options. It would be better to have this as a menu but, I can make do with it for now.

Does the paid version offer a 3rd level menu structure? I’m just testing out a few themes for now for my cooking/food blog, and this theme does appear to be the best for my needs, so for now I’m trying to make due with what I have.

    Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me.

No the premium versions don’t support 3rd level as all the themes (premium and free) use the same bootstrap architecture. Me and my team already started checking alternatives to that problem and once we have a solution, we’ll implement it on both versions (premium and free).

It will take us some time to do that on all of our themes though, so i think that it will be ready in the middle – end of the next month.

    Hi Alex,

While I have you. Is there any chance of the next update of your theme supporting Jetpack’s Infinite Scroll. This would be a fantastic feature if it worked with restaurante…I’m new to wordpress, so I didn’t want to hack up the theme. So I thought I would just ask and maybe wait for the next version.

    Infinite Scroll
At this time, your theme, Restaurante, doesn’t support Infinite Scroll. Unlike other Jetpack modules, Infinite Scroll needs information from your theme to function properly.

Until your theme supports Infinite Scroll, you won’t be able to activate this module.

If you are a theme author, you can learn about adding support for Infinite Scroll at http://jetpack.me/support/infinite-scroll/.

    Thanks!

Right now we’re working on the 3 level menu and logically we’ll submit it for new review this week.

Regarding jetpack, i don’t think at the moment that we’ll integrate it, as it’s a third party script and this means that in future updates, there might be a problem, so we’ll have to support it. Also the philosophy of our themes is to be easy for implementation for the majority of users.

Small tweaks like this one can be implemented in your case with a small fee.

Thanks Alex! I look forward to the updated version. I’m still just playing around with this site idea. If things start to gain traction, I will definitely be coming to you for a fully customized solution of the theme. Thanks!

Just submitted the new version of the theme to the reviewers. It’ll take a few days to be approved though.

Just grabbed the latest copy of the theme. AWESOME! Totally love it!

Just left you a 5 star review…I hope others find your fantastic theme.

“Awesome theme. It was just what I was looking for, for my food blog website. The layout is perfect for food bloggers and restaurant owners that want to highlight photos of their food and really give the user a visual experience.

I love that they added support for 3 levels of menus and added the footer widget sections. Well done…HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS THEME!”

Thanks mate! i’m glad i could help and that you liked my theme 🙂
