How long does it take to link my user name to my website URL? I have had it for over two weeks in my profile and it is still not linked to my WP user name.

On the forums? You don't get a direct link to your web site from your member name. Only a link to your member profile - which may contain your site url if you've added it via Profile/Edit.

whooami is right. Who links up the website link with your user name? The backlink does not count in Google? What about twitter.com backlinks?
    Thanks.

but is there a forumula in terms of getting a URL link on the username?

I don't care not passing some Juice but would be nice to have a link back..if anything..just for some traffic

no there isnt a formula (at least not one that is public).

one of the prerequisites is that you actually have a link in your profile though. do you?

Yes.. I have entered the URL.

I just wanted to know if it's a manual process. Meaning someone has to activate the link in the backend.

    Thanks

I've been trying to figure this one out myself, and it would be my guess that certain members (mods maybe) have the option to enable the link for members. I've noticed members that contribute and dig into topics alot generally have active links, where as others do not.

I could be totally wrong of course, but that is at least how it appears... it's just a theory...
