   What plugin can I install where I simply activate it and that's it, where I can post thumbnails and a nice lightbox, border comes around and darkens the background?

   What plugin can do this for me?

   Have you tried NextGen Gallery? It works like that but you still have to create albums and such. You could also try Lightbox 2 which I think is supposed to do that for you.
