   Hi there,
   I am after a simple rewriteRule (or other solution) to overcome our issue:
   we have setup different category page (news, videos...) Ex: http://example.com/category/news but we have also made the homepage behave exactly the same way as the above so basically http://example.com/category/news & http://example.com/ show exactly the same things.

   We want http://example.com/ to display content from http://example.com/category/news

   Is there any way to show a category page as the homepage??

   For SEO purposes, it might be better as well if we 'tell' search engines not to index the 'news' page anymore.

   I thank everyone in advance for their help.

   Hi peps. Not sure if you still need the advise or not.
   You could use a static front page and use the page-links-to plugin to foward automatically to your category/news page.
