   Can the Visual Editor be turned off in WP to enable adding javascript to a page or post?

   Yes it's possible! I prefer working with the HTML editor as well.

   This option is available for each user to turn off and on. Log in the Admin Control Panel and go to:

   Users -> Authors & Profile

   Find your username and click on Edit.

   Uncheck "Visual Editor"

   Hope that helps. :)
