you can use search everything plugin to decide what the wp internal search should do

by default, wp internal search uses article text.

google and all search engines do consider tags.

Tags can be placed as the page META keywords. They can also be used to show related posts automatically.

you can use simple tags plugin to do this.

Yes, I realise that – but that is not quite the question I have asked.

What I want to know is this:
Do search engines (e.g. Google) just index by the tags only, or significant words within the post?
Thus, should I include ‘keywords’ from the post as well as synonyms, etc.

For example, in a post about art that, say, does not contain the word paintings I would include paintings in the Post Tags list.
Should I also additionally include the word ‘art’?

As you can see I’m trying to get the optimum results within search engines.

    Thanks,
    David
