Hey all,

I've never used OpenX, but you should be able to embed just about any HTML in a text widget.
If your theme support's widgets, place a text widget in your sidebar with the embedded ad code.
If PHP is involved, try searching for a PHP widget plugin.
Thanks CCrest.
The plugin site suggests to paste this code:
<?php advman_ad('name'); ?>
..."where the ads should go."
Do you think that means I just enter that code, having changed to the name, in the sidebar.php?
moved another freaking post to the right forum
That's PHP. A regular Text widget won't be able to handle it. You will need to go to "Plugins > Add New" and search for "PHP Widget" to find a plugin to install that will make a PHP widget available at "Appearance > Widgets".
Then put the PHP widget in your sidebar(s) and paste the code in and save. View Site.
I tried Google Ad Manager instead...
Our gazette theme calls on separate PHP files for displaying the ads. I put the ad script codes in those separate PHP files and it worked!
In order to use OpenX zones, follow these instructions:
1. Generate an OpenX zone tag.
2. Past the contents of this tag in Advertising Manager.
That's it!
Now, you can position your OpenX zone easily using Advertising Manager (e.g. as a widget, in your template, or inline with your post), and you can use OpenX's sophisticated ad selection and delivery for your ads.
Cheers,
Scott
