Hi,
I've read through and implemented all steps as described in the sticky at the top of this forum.
Re-installed all files 3 times! So am reaching point of stepping out on to window ledge (actually work on ground floor so just being a bit melodramatic).
I keep getting this message:
"Unable to create directory /home/8753/cleareality/www.cleareality.co.uk/public_html/http://www.cleareality.co.uk/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?"
I've tried everything.
I only want to upload a bloomin' image!
Thanks for any advice which helps me solve this.
Jo.
sometimes you have to train the server
chmod /wp-content and any uploads folders under it to 777
upload an image
now chmod all back to 755
should work from now on
also be sure paths are correct here
admin - settings - miscellaneous

Well, I've put an uploads folder in the root directory and in the wp-content directory and the path in the admin settings points to the one in the root directory.
Sorry, don't understand this chmod 777 stuff. Can you give me a bit more detail on this pls.
Thanks,
Jo.
