• I know Mr. King frowns upon us tampering with the “new blog post” line, however I think twitter-tools.php self-destructing (whether intentionally or unintentionally) is a bit excessive. 🙂

I’ve tried to edit that line on two occasions, on two different blogs, via the WP admin panel. Both times as soon as I click “Update File” (even if I don’t change anything) the file’s contents disappears, as does TT from my plugins list. It seems the only way I can safely edit the file is through cpanel.

I don’t have this problem with any of the other plugins I use.

  • I’m afraid you’re making a false assumption about the cause/effect here.

I was going to let this go but today, when I tried to make a change to the “new blog post” line again, on a third blog (using version 2.0 on WP 2.8.4) you’ll never guess what happened.

    *poof*

Thankfully I had the sense to copy the file’s content before I clicked “update” and am able to access the file via CPanel. BTW, it was empty there, too, so it’s not WP’s editor simply making it appear invisible.

So… Given that I’m completely sober and have no history of mental disorders, nor am I experiencing this same issue with any other plugins, what do you suggest?
