• I moved my blog from a free server (with terrible customer service) to Hostgator. The problem was that I never had access to my own database with the free server, so the only backup I had were the monthly zip files I was creating from cpanel.

I gave my most current zip file to the new host who told me they needed the database as well, that’s where my actual posts were contained. So I went back to the old host who sent me a database, which is missing about 1.5 months worth of my blog posts. And now they won’t answer any of my emails.

To make the issue worse, I tried making a test post today on my blog at the new host and it seems my Worpress is completely messed up now too. It doesn’t allow me to post anything. I’m sure there are some settings I can’t figure out that need to be fixed.

Basically there are 2 things that could happen, I’ll settle for either one of them.

#1, Somehow I recover everything without that current database and get my WP working again, and my current posts.

#2, I cut my losses on the 1.5 months of posts and fix what I can and start posting again.

Either way I need serious help LOL. This might sound silly for just a blog but it’s a really personal thing for me, it contains my last 6 years worth of travel experiences and I just want it up and running again.

The URL is http://www.jamaicamyway.com and as you can see the posting stops at June 2, there should be posts right up til July 15.

    Thanks!!

    anyone know the cause?
