   Hi all,

   So I've used Akismet in the past, but this is the first time I've installed WP (2.8.1) on IIS7 with a fresh install of PHP. I didn't do the install, so I can't give more info there I'm afraid.

   Here's what happens. The Akismet plugin activates okay, but when I go to enter the wp.com api key, the page is blank except for the notification along the top - and it takes ages to load too. I didn't think it was a big deal until I tested commenting and then I end up at a 500 Internal Server Error page - all browsers.

   Deactivate Akismet and it seems okay. I'm thinking it's either a PHP config setting or a .htaccess configuration...

   Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance,

   I found the answer just edit .htaccess with

   AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
   AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

   and ENJOY! It was a problem about your php version (5 required)

   that got rid of the ERROR 500 so far, but my dashboard still looks screwed up. What in the world is going on, and why is this just recently happening to people?
