How to Enable Image Captions

    I just installed 2.8, and am trying to upload images and edit the caption area. It is unavailable, and searching all the forums, etc., has produced no solution for me.

    Can anyone tell me how to be able to use image captions in 2.8?

    PS: I am unable to set the caption when I upload an image, and also if I go into Media and edit the image.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the caption problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    I tried both, and I still have the problem.

    Do you think this is a 2.8 problem?

    No – I think it’s a theme or plugin problem. I have at least six 2.8 installs and I have no problem with caption editing in any of them. Try renaming the plugins folder via FTP.
