• Hey all,

I’m trying to get the categories in the Edit or Add Post area to stay in their correct hierarchy – if some are selected and you return to editing the post, they reflow so the selected ones are out of hierarchy at the top.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Lucas

I’ve had that problem as well; it’s very annoying. :/

Yes, me too. It wasn’t doing this in the older versions of WP, just the newer ones. That would be great if the categories stayed in their correct hierarchy (while editing a post) as it becomes confusing which category belongs to which parent. The hierarchy is fine on the site, just not the admin area (again, only while editing a post). Any thoughts?

Are there any plugins for the admin area that will keep the category hierarchy in order when editing a post?

    Hi,

As far as I can see the order (when editing) is, selected ones at the top of the box and then the rest in alfabetical order.
It annoy s me sometimes but imagine you have over 20 categories then it’s a nice feature.
Toggle on/off would be nice though.

Yes, a toggle on/off would be great idea.
