I recently attempted to move my blog from wordpress.com to a godaddy hosted wordpress.org account. I had domain mapping on the wordpress.com account as well. After installing the new wordpress.org on the proper domain, the blog showed a 404 error when trying to login at mydomain.com/wp-login and going to http://www.mydomain.com brought up a blank page that says “pageok Directory Size: 17529”. I deleted the wordpress.com blog and reinstalled wordpress.org, but to no avail. The nameservers and DNS all seem to be set up properly, and this doesn’t seem like an issue with the information not properly propagating yet. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

  • Redscare — did you ever find a solution? I am having the same problem now!

If you are on GoDaddy and you get a pageok message, contact their technical support and ask them to check the nameserver zoneinfo. Someone else had this same problem and they found out GoDady’s nameservers were set up incorrectly.

I’ve had the same problem with every domain I’ve moved from DirectNic … maybe that had nothing to do with it, but its been the same for every domain name.

Here is what I did to fix it without godaddy support (yes, sounds wierd, but hey it’s worked EVERY TIME!)

Go to the Domain Manager, select the domain name, click MANAGE under Nameservers.

Change the nameservers to “I want to park my domains.” – waited 3-5 minutes.

    Click MANAGE under Nameservers (AGAIN)

Change the nameservers back to “I have a hosting account with these domains.” – waited another 3-5 minutes

tried the above system with no results. on the phone with godaddy i learned they are looking into it on their end. they said they would let me know within 72 hours.

    [update]
they resolved the problem within 1 hour. not sure what the cause was however.
