How odd. I suspect this has something to do with your host as I just upgraded to 1.5.1 and didn't lose my stats. Can you please tell me what's your MySQL version?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Topas, just out of curiosity, please try this: deactivate the plugin and reactivate it again. Next, check phpmyadmin to see if the table wp_popularpostsdata has been populated with the right data.

    2. Sorry, no Data so far. I deactivate and reactivate, nothing happened -> Sorry, no data so far

    3. I import the data from wp_popularpostsdata_backup to wp_popularpostsdata and every Post now have 1 Pageview

    5. I delete the wp_popularpostsdata table and i install the plugin new ... now i have a clear wp_popularpostsdata with no data

    6. I deactivate and reactivate and nothing happened ... no data so far

    Hi Ikki24,
I got the same problem as well. The data has been reset
    My SQL version is 5.0.51a
Before I update to 1.5.1, I got 1.4.6 running well.

Please help. I know nothing about SQL. However,
table in wp_popularpostsdata_backup is still there.
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Ikki24,

So my data was reset as well...I can see my backup table still there? Can you walk you walk us through a restore process?

Yes, WPP creates a backup table right before upgrading so your data is still there. I'm still thinking of a way to make it simple for you guys to restore your data.

@insultcomicdog: can you please send me a screenshot of what your wp_popularpostdata (the one created by the upgrade) looks like?

    My wp_popularpostdata after upgrade:

last_viewed is new and all tables have no data

I'm having similar trouble. The backup table is there, and the new table (wp_popularpostdata) contains 0 records. Thanks in advance for help

OK guys, I created a little script to help you restore the data from wp_popularpostsdata_backup. Please read carefully and follow the instructions described below:

Warning: I strongly advise to backup your database before doing this! Also, this script does no validations - it will just attempt to recover the data from wp_popularpostsdata_backup, so try this under your responsibility!

    1. Download the script here.
    2. Backup your database!
    3. Unzip the contents from update.zip into your desktop.
    4. Via FTP, upload upgrade.php to your wordpress-popular-posts folder (eg. http://yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-popular-posts).
    5. Log in into your wp-admin area, and type this URL into your address bar: http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wordpress-popular-posts/upgrade.php (please replace yoursite.com with your actual url!) to run the script.

Again, I cannot guarantee that this will work for everybody as this is only a experimental script. If you run into any problems while running it please let me know.

    Good luck!

    I get a message like:

    Access denied

    P.S. Wordpress Version 2.8.2 atm.

    EDIT:

In the English Version i get this message:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Must be a new feature on Wordpress 2.8. Please rename upgrade.php to something else, upload it to your server and run the script again!

Edit: here's the file again. Follow the instructions as described above, and run the script using this url:

    The same message:

I think that is due to Wordpress user permissions. Do you have admin access to your blog, Topas?

Rename upgrade.php to something else (eg. recovery.php) and try running the script again.

I have lost all ideas for now... I'll come back after lunch (hopefully with a fresher brain) and try to help you out with this.
