Anyone know of a plug in that will held me stop 50 or so spam blogs created on my site everyday ?

I’m assuming because you said spam BLOGS that you’re using WordPress MU. In that case, yay you, there’s a plugin! It’s called WPMU-Signup-CAPTCHA:
