I received the following error when upgrading and have not been able to upgrade yet.

Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wordpress-popular-posts.1.5.0.zip.

Unpacking the update.

Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure

Mmm this is probably WordPress’ servers fault, mate. Please try again later and let me know if you were able to upgrade, ok?

Same problem here, moreover I updated the plugin manually in a test site and it displays the raw database query the plugin makes… holding off from upgrading for now

Pedro, please download and install v1.5.1. That should fix it.

About the download issue, it seems to be a WordPress bug: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/278487?replies=36.
