2.8Beta2: Permalinks to pages give 404 error (2 posts)

    Hi,

    I have a fresh installation of WordPress 2.8Beta2 on a new database. All of the permalinks options include "index.php". I tried setting a custom permalink without it, "/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/", but that caused a 404 page not found error when I tried going to a page.

    I am running on Linux.

    completely delete the .htaccess in wp root
    now generate your permalinks
