Hi -
I'm totally new to this, so please bear with me. I have WP running, but after reading some of the Codex I tried to locate where I can upload media through the control panel. However, my control panel consists only of the Dashboard...no sidebar, just the dashboard and add-ins at the bottom.
What am I missing?

This is an update to the original post...
From what I am reading, I am missing the sidebar for the admin. I have no widgets, and no plugins. This is the same in both Firefox and Chrome. IE7 will not even accept my login ( I don't use it much anyway).
I found posts that said something about an arrow or circle that will expand the sidebar, but I don't seem to have that, either.
Help, please...

Sorry I was unclear...
If you have a screenshot, you should be able to host that on your site somewhere like:
dpath.org/stuff/screenshot.jpg
and we'd be able to see what's going on...

Sowwy but that doesn't work...
In order to have a screenshot of your admin page, you would take a shot, on your puter, then upload that to your site and then give us the link...
Any such link would have to have a .jpg or .gif or .png at the end of the link...
for example, http://www.teras.org/stuff/screenshot.jpg
((That's not a valid link, but it will give you the idea...))

OK, that works...
First thing is that you are using a really old version of wordpress, so that means that what info you are reading prolly is for version 2.8.1 which has a lot of changes in it from where you are at the moment versionwise...
Seeing that you are starting a new blog, I would suggest that you do the upgrade to 2.8.1 that is noted in your panel before anything else...
