   hi..
   after I upgrade to 2.8.1 I got this error 2 times

   Akismet has detected a problem. A server or network problem is preventing Akismet from working correctly. Click here for more information about how to fix the problem.

   I have been getting the same notice on 4 wordpress blogs for 2 days. it gets better when I click "check network status" but comes back later.

   you might consider that there are millions of connections being made...

   Please upgrade to version 2.2.5 of the Akismet plugin.

   Upgrade the askiment plugin version. Now you can do it in your control panel.

   Even I got this error after upgrading it has become fine :)

   Okey.. already download 2.2.6.
   We will se if stay have problem.

   We are getting the same message and much more spam than normal.

   We also tried to upgrade (had upgraded as of a week or two ago) but we are getting server errors there too.

    I am running WP 2.8.4 and Askiment 2.2.6. I have been encountering the problem all day today and have received about 40 spam comments as real comments. I have the problem with the "DNS" issue.

    Urgh! When is this going to be fixed. All week I have suffered with this problem.

    I am running WP 2.8.4 and Askiment 2.2.6. I have been encountering the problem all day today and have received about 40 spam comments as real comments. I have the problem with the "DNS" issue.

    I went to my host and did an nslookup for rest.akismet.com. Found it. Then I telneted to port 80 of that server. No problem. There doesn't seem to be a "firewall" issue. What's up with this?
