I've been searching the forums and the web and haven't found a solution to this issue. I have found answers to previous versions of WordPress.org, not 2.8.
I attempt to upload an image and I get the error "Missing a temporary folder".
I've added TMP directories everywhere, I don't have a php.ini file to edit, I've deactivated plugins, blah blah blah.
What do I need to do? I don't get it.

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Miscellaneous, configure and save
Go to Dashboard > Settings > Media, configure and save.
Plus, some servers require you to CHMOD your uploads folder to 777 from 755

I have changed the CHMOD settings to the appropriate settings.
Messed with Miscellaneous multiple times, but here is what it looks like now:
wp-content/uploads
I feel like I've done everything, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

By the way... Where is WordPress on this issue?
I always FTP my images and avoid the WP system.
