Post Title is Present – Text and Side Bars Have Disappeared / Missing

    Last night any post text (title’s there but not the next) and sidebars disappeared from by site http://backwest.com/wordpress.backwest.com/ – and one of the main page text tabs (Hire Me) also disappeared.

    Apart from editing text I can’t think of anything else that I could have done (I’m been struggling with service from my web hosting company dotster with their ability to support the database connection but I don’t think that should be causing part of the site to disappear)

    Can anyone help?

    It looks like part of the index.php is missing. Were edits made to this file? If you can post the code of this file we can look at it and see where the error is. Otherwise if you are sure that you haven’t made any changes, then maybe just re-upload your theme and activate again.

    Though I have someone who helps me with my blog site, I’m pretty sure the edits were note made. The one thing that’s weird as I upload another theme for a swap out is that the “preview” function is toast – nothing shows up for previewing another theme.

    I’ve tried to upload three different themes (Clean Home, Blue Print, Blass 2) and all have the same issue – no preview in the themes function plus no story posts.

    Any other thoughts – database problem maybe?

    I would try re-uploading all of the wordpress files. If it was a database problem, nothing at all would be showing up.

    I’m using WordPress via a server side hosting company. When you say “try re-uploading all the WordPress files, do you mean deleting the theme files from the server and then reinstalling?

    Second, any idea if all of the related post files be deleted (and unfortunately lost) when that happens as well.?

    What I meant was re-installing all of WordPress. When you set this up, did you not download WordPress and installed it on the server and then install your theme? I’m not sure what’s going on with your site, but I would double check that files are not missing.

    Or try the default theme, you’ve mentioned 3 themes, none of theme default (come with WordPress) themes..

    crondeau is suggesting uploading fresh copies of WordPress files..

    You havn’t mentioned if you have any plugins active, and if so if you have tried disabling and/or removing them.
