   i run the blog on a dedicated server.

   i have not changed anything in the last couple of days/weeks.

   i am getting this error on a random basis.

   Unable to reach any Akismet servers.

   I am getting the same error

   "A network problem or firewall is blocking all connections from your web server to Akismet.com. Akismet cannot work correctly until this is fixed."

   It looks like the Akismet server is down at the moment. Let's wait a few hours and see

   Just checked the link. It is exactly the same with me so there is maybe no problem in you plug in directory but a wide server problem.

   I am gonna check in wordpress.com to see if they say something abt the akismet. It comes together with the free wordpress.

   I'm having this problem too! It comes and goes and I've had contact with my server host and they can't find any problem. I've checked firewalls but nothing... any solution??

   It depends what version of Akismet you are using. The version 2.2.4 has a bug causing this error while everything actually is working correctly. Guys from Automattic (who are the producer of this plugin) say the next version 2.2.5 should fix it. I didn't update yet, but try it if it works for you.

   Just started getting this problem today, on host 1&1. It means I'm now getting hundreds of spam comments an hour until it's sorted! Did anyone find a solution?

   WP 2.8.3/Akismet 2.2.6.
