  • Pasting content that includes HTML markup into the Visual Editor is a really Bad Idea. Use the HTML tab.

    Sorry if I mis worded that.
    I DO paste into the HTML mode. I only look like a completely stupid newbie.

    Ah – “WYSIWYG editor” normally means the Visual (TinyMCE) Editor.

    What are you using to write your HTML markup? Have you tried pasting into a plain text editor first and then re-copying that into WP? Just in case there’s anything else being pasted in.

    I use the HTML tab all the time but sometimes write my markup in a text editor and than paste it into the tab. To date, I’ve never had the kind of problem you describe.

    WordPress does the same thing to me — adds extra paragraph tags where I don’t want them…
