When I upload images for my website (www.katipo.co.uk) I don't get the thumbnail I normally get with my other sites, and it shows a broken link immediately.
If I login to the server (via FileZilla) and go looking in the folder for the images I've just uploaded ("/wp-content/uploads/2009/07") they aren't there.
Conversely, if drop the images from my desktop directly into the folder on the server, Wp can't see them.
I've sent a million e-mails to my hosts about this and they can't see what's wrong. I've got another website with them that works perfectly, so can't see what I'm doing wrong.
HELP!
Do you have the upload path defined in your WP Dashboard?
It's under: Settings → Miscellaneous Settings → Store uploads in this folder

Yes. It's just the standard "wp-content/uploads"
Are you uploading images using the WP uploader? Or through your FTP client?

I've tried both ways and neither work. Normally it's via the WP uploader.

What a muppet. I was logged in to the wrong dashboard when I checked. You are quite right - it had "wordpress/wp-content/uploads" so I've removed the "wordpress" and it works like a dream. Thank you very much.

dbmartin, thank you so much!! You have just solved my problem as well. I was having the exact same uploader problem...The path was sending my uploads to the beta version of my site.
