• This only recently started to happen. I was still using version 3.4.1. I just upgraded the plugin from 3.4.1 to 3.4.8 thinking this will resolve the issue but it took about a minute before it started giving me the error below. I deactivated the plugin so my site would work normally.

I used to use adsense manager and while i don’t have it activated, I did not delete or clear any files. Any ideas?

PHP Warning: require_once(OX_LIB/Ad.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/ilivesal/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/lib/OX/Plugins/Ypn.php on line 2 [07-Jul-2009 06:53:09] PHP Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘OX_LIB/Ad.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home3/ilivesal/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/lib/OX/Plugins/Ypn.php on line 2

  • masterbassie:

From the look of this error, WordPress is not finding ‘Ad.php’. Can you check to make sure you have the following file:

    (WP)/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/lib/OX/Ad.php

Also, it looks like there are files in the (WP)/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/lib/OX/Plugins directory that should not be there (perhaps a file called ‘error_log’?)

Perhaps your installation did not run smoothly. One way to fix this is to completely delete the ‘advertising-manager’ folder, and re-install from scratch. This will not affect any ads that you have already loaded.

    Cheers,
    Scott

I think this might be a virus? Same thing happened to my site, and when I check the server there is also a folder labelled ‘porn’ which has appeared. Could it be a weakness in the Advertising manager plugin?

If you do a Google search you see loads of other sites brought down by this error, all within the last few weeks.

Deleting the folder did indeed fix the problem, but I probably won’t re-install.

Now I Twitter all my latest writing! @sparklyscotty

    sparklyscotty:

The error that masterbassie was experiencing has NOTHING to do with any virus. He installed the plugin manually, and not all the files were in the correct position.

Advertising Manager leverages WordPress security. It is highly unlikely that there are any security holes introduced by this plugin.

    Cheers,
    Scott
