So first i installed the most recent FULL version (the one that is not in beta) but unfortunately that one breaks the widgets in wordpress 2.8.. So it was suggested that I download the most recent beta.. which I did.. and now the widgets work. YAY!

So i got started making some test products/categories. Well, I didn't get to far. The first thing I thought to do was create a new category. I was able to do it in the previous version with no problem.. but not this time

I open the categories page and fill out the form, and then i get a warning "This Item was Not Added"

    Thats it. NOTHING ELSE!!!

Then i thought, maybe I will just create a product and apply it to the default category. When I did that, I got a warning
"can not write to powernubby.com/wp-conent/uploads/wpsc/upgrades .. blah blah something about permissions"

So i went to that folder, and IT DOESNT EXIST!! So i made a folder in the wpsc folder, and made sure it was 755 and then error went away.. but thats where i stand.

I still can not create categories, and my products are not saving. I am, again, at a loss.. as my sister would say..... WHAT IN THE HELL?

Oh yea.. and i CAN create new GROUPS!! Although I can not really tell what the differences are. I have three groups.. Categories, Brand, and Calenders (created by me)

and my "Target Markets" list is blank, unlike the last install that had every country on earth on it

i had the same problem, it has to do with the install.

so i fixed this by uninstalling the plug in from the admin panel, then completely fresh install the beta version. all you data will stay because it doesn't delete mysql info (or at least didn't for me...)

I happened to delete the lone default category while trying to assign a category, (which seemed very unwieldy) for my first product. Now I can find no way to make any new categories, restore the default category, or assign any products to any categories. So of course none of my products can show up on the live site.

I have completed all my variations, payment gateway settings, lots of product additions etc. So I really don’t want to have to reinstall. I guess I'll try Peasekimo's advice... Pretty frustrating.

Well, unfortunately I did not have Peaseskimo's experience. My data all got wiped out in the reinstall. Ugh.
