   how to put a footer sidebar to a theme where can i customize and add some things using the widgets of the appearance section of the dashboar

   Hi,

   You need to edit footer.php and sidebar.php file of your theme and customize it with your requirement..

   You can edit this files from wordpress admin area with 2.8 version also..

   open up the default theme and look at how it is put together.
