   If I don't have that written in my theme, then I can't replace the code with the new code.

   So my question is: IS there another way to fully activate this plugin, so it will work?

   Hi zukny,

   If you have a peek at the plugin's homepage, there's a FAQ section which mentions this very question.

   (The plugin's homepage is also a much better spot to post a question about the plugin than here on the general wordpress.org forum.)
