Posted 4 months ago #Yes, we've been having trouble with the Twitter status message not being encoded properly for quite a while... No matter how I try to encode it, for some reason it doesn't seem to want to work as it should.
I am still looking into how to fix it, but I don't even have an estimated time of delivery since I have no idea why it's not working as it should to begin with.

Posted 4 months ago #I'm not a programmer, but can't you "simplify" the text, removing the special characters? For example:
Claro anuncia que cadastro para o lançamento do iPhone 3GS começará amanhã
Would be posted to Twitter as:
Claro anuncia que cadastro para o lancamento do iPhone 3GS comecara amanha
That would be enough for me.
The problem is, Twitter is probaly the sharing link people will most use in my site. :( I've already received 10+ reports of this bug since I installed the plugin, a few hours ago.

Posted 4 months ago #Yes, I could probably strip it down and return plain text to Twitter... I'll see if I can't get this implemented either tonight or tomorrow... Depends on how much stuff I have to do today before I get home.

The title of every post on this blog ends with three dots, which are urlencoded and sent to Twitter as a special character. I also have the problem with apostrophes (Running WPMU with Sexy Bookmarks 2.5.1).
I agree that a stripped-down-plain-text title for Twitter with encoded characters removed would be a good solution.
