Ok, so I hadn't been to my wife's old Blog in a long time. But I wanted to install a new WP blog on a different domain (same hosting provider), so I thought I would check up on hers to see the setup (although I would be using updated WP files of course). Well I head to her blog and it rpompts me with the "it looks like you haven't installed wordpress yet?" message and walks me through the set-up again. What happened there?
So I go through the set-up again, and after I copy the temp password and click on the login link it gives me this error -
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /hsphere/local/home/woodfrie/news.bluffcitychronicle.com/wp-login.php on line 184
Any ideas?
As you can see from her personal blog (also not updated in a while), WP does work on this server, and they are both running from the same database, so I am stumped.

well before you re-installed I would say the wp_options table in the database crashed
might run a repair on the db tables before installing again

Ok, I ran 'repair' on all of the "news" tables in the sql database. They all said ok.
So how wold I go about re-installing? Do I need to delete all of the "news" tables? Because now I am getting "Error establishing a database connection".

(And once we tackle this, we still need to work on the new blog. Ugh.)

Ok, now I'm getting "Error establishing a database connection" when I go to news.bluffcitychronicle.com but gina.bluffcitychronicle.com is still fine and I haven't messed with either the database (except trying to repair those table) or the config files. Ugh.

news.bluffcity .. has been hacked.
if you need more info on that take a look at any of the cached pages in google. You have much more going on there than you think.
if you want private help with either of those sites, both of which are running extremely insecure versions of wordpress, need to be upgraded properly, and the one has to be "cleaned out" and secured - contact me off the forums, perferably through the contact form on my own site @ www.village-idiot.org

Hey, just thought I would add - I am on ixwebhosting. After doing some reading, it looks like their servers have been hacked (a lot), so my reinstalling may not even help. Any experience with them?
