1) My site was deleted. I re-installed 2.8 and the website is blank.
2) I then copied over, from an OLD backup, my wp-content folder. Now all the images in admin are missing.

just to rule it out... I tried various themes, but that didn't change anything.
Permissions, perhaps? Are the theme files readable by the web server? Are the preview jpg files in the themes even there?

I used the scanner on WP-security and it showed what permissions to fix. that fixed it, however, I just realize... all my images are gone. I had to restore a backup and it was from may. Everything from May on is gone.
