Internal Server Error

    Hello, I am troubleshooting for one of my hostees and am having a problem with this site only upon transferring servers, my guess is chmod errors which i have tried to fix but i guess i didnt 🙂 Thanks in advance for your help

    first off this is the error log message

    [Mon Jun 29 17:15:19 2009] [error] [client ] SoftException in Application.cpp:252: File “/home/s/public_html/thoughts/index.php” is writeable by group
    [Mon Jun 29 17:15:18 2009] [error] [client ] File does not exist: /home/s/public_html/500.shtml

    and this is what the homepage shows,

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@a.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I tried to re-CHMOD and that has not helped =\

    I had this problem as well. I gave up and reinstalled.

    Hi,

    – Check your WordPress .htaccess file for bad directives. It is located in your WordPress installation directory. If there then remove it

    – restart http service for the server

    – disable all plugins

    – redo the upgrade and upgrade wordpress manually

    I did disable all the plugins, but I’m a hostee, so I don’t have access to the back end.
